The main feature of the systems that make up MAHLE’s M series is the type of motor they use, which is located in the bottom bracket of the eBike.
The M series currently consists of the M40 System.
The MAHLE M40 System is made up of several components:
Motor: installed in the bottom bracket area of the bicycle
Battery: internal, with different capacities
Interface: devices for cyclist–system interaction
Wiring and connections: required to interconnect all components
Charger: necessary to charge the battery
Speed sensor: device responsible for measuring the system’s speed
Some of these components have a specific manual available at: https://mahle-smartbike.com/downloads/
The M40 System can only be installed on eBikes designed for the integration of M40 components. It is not possible to retrofit or remodel. The eBike must pass all certifications and approvals required by the specific regions where it will be sold.
